Apple Introduces iPhone

posted by: Vlad Akilov

The long awaited and speculated Apple iPhone has just been introduced today by Steve Jobs at MacWorld. The iPhone will have a 3.5 inch widescreen/touchscreen display, and will be a Cingular exclusive phone. It will come in two versions, a 4 Gigabyte for $499 and an 8 Gigabyte version for $599. Both of which will be flash based. Also mentioned was the battery life, which is 5 hours for talking and 16 hours for audio playback.
–The iPhone is scheduled to ship in June of this year.

iPhone combines three products — a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, maps, and searching — into one small and lightweight handheld device.

Great post. What a keen piece of technology. I’m particularly ecstatic about the touchscreen function. I was wondering when Apple would get something like the iPhone out. With cell phones nowadays having mp3 player and internet capabilities, it seems appropiate that Apple would release vice versa.

Way to stay on point, Vlad.
